FAQ

Boats

Depends.  If you book a boat and need to take the Florida Mandated – Safe Boaters Course (applies to anyone OPERATING a boat or waverunner born AFTER Jan. 1st, 1988), you MUST take the test PRIOR TO YOUR ARRIVAL on your cell phone, tablet, or computer by clicking here: https://boattests101.com/united-states/florida/florida-rental?mcid=MMyAsRoG.

The cost is $9.99 for the Florida Temporary Boaters Certificate that is valid for 3 months from date of completion.

Important: Arrive 30 min early once you completed the test online. Again, you MUST have this completed test PRIOR to your arrival. If you do not, you will be potentially cutting into your on-water time and there is no refund or pro-ration for your reserved time slot if you did not complete this PRIOR to arrival.

You must be at least 21 years of age or older to OPERATE or DRIVE the boat.  But keep in mind, you can be as young as 18 to RENT the vessel as long as you have someone over the age of 21 years old to OPERATE it for you.

The only things you will need to bring with you the day of your rental is:

  • Drivers License or Government Issued Photo I.D.
  • Credit card (There is a $500 damage deposit due at the time of your rental)
  • Cell phones just in case you get lost, have any questions, or want to stay out longer.
  • Any food or drinks you want to take along for your cruise. (No alcohol is to be consumed by any person operating the vessel)
  • Bluetooth speaker if you’d like to listen to music while on board.
  • Pets are allowed but you will be responsible for any damages they may have caused on the boat.
  • (Sorry no towables, i.e. skiing, tubing, wakeboarding, etc. allowed due to insurance reasons).

We give you one of the largest ranges of all the boat rentals in the area that you can go and explore as we allow you to go approx. 26 miles up and down the intercoastal waterways.

Our north boundary is Clearwater Pass (Approx. 1.5 hours north of us by boat), and our south boundary is Shell Key Preserve (a.k.a Shell Island) approx. 45-50 min. south of us by boat with many scenic areas in between. Our south boundary is our most popular destination as Shell Key Preserve was rated Best Beach in America by Travel Channel at one point.

Only way to get there is by boat, so you can pull up, drop anchor, walk up and down the beach, collect sand dollars, sharks teeth, sea horses, and of course, Shells at Shell Island. Very beautiful destination. There are also many restaurants you can pull into along the way to get some food and drinks in either the north or south directions. Due to insurance regulations, boats are not allowed into the Gulf of Mexico.

Sorry, but NO boats are allowed into the GULF of MEXICO due to insurance regulations.

We provide you with everything you will need including all safety equipment, a navigational map/chart, a GPS navigation system, full instruction, and boat orientation.

Yes.  All boats leave our location completely topped off with fuel and once you return from your trip, our staff will refuel the boat . Fuel is $4.95 per gallon currently (subject to change) and is a separate charge due at the end of your rental. Generally, you will burn 2 (two) to 4 (four) gallons of gas per hour depending on how fast and how hard you drive the boat and how many passengers/gear you have on board.

*If cancelled / rescheduled within 24 hours there is no refund. (This includes reservations placed within 24 hours or the scheduled departure time/date.) (waived in the case of foul weather and we are not able to send out equipment).

*If cancelled / rescheduled 24-72 hours out a $75.00 fee per boat will be charged to the credit card holding the reservation (waived in the case of foul weather and we are not able to send out equipment).

*If cancelled / rescheduled more than 72 hours out, there is no fee to reschedule to a future date. If cancelled, a 10% cancellation fee will be charged and the remaining balance will be refunded. If a party will be arriving late the marina must be notified ahead of the scheduled departure day/time so we don’t consider the party a no-show!

If no-show* on the day of rental, the full charge for the boat(s) reserved will be applied to the credit card.

•Foul weather is determined by marina staff based on a combination of real time observations and National Weather Service predictions. Do not assume the local TV weather report is accurate, call marina for official foul weather determination. Isolated / unforeseen rain encountered during the time a rental boat is being used is not a reason for discount or refund.

**A no-show is considered over one hour late for a half day rental or over two hours late for a full day rental. PLEASE ARRIVE 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO YOUR RESERVED TIME.
